From ford to ferry and road to rail - establishing safe crossings over the River Plym, the River Tamar, and the larger tidal inlets was vital to the development of the historic 'Three Towns' and shaped the modern city of Plymouth.
Nigel Overton, Curator (City and Maritime Heritage) at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery tells the story of Plymouth's principal bridges.
Refreshments will be available before the start of the lecture from 6.30pm in Room 002, Babbage Building.
