The Marine Biology and Ecology Research Centre (MBERC) runs a regular series of seminars during the semester with visiting speakers from the UK and overseas giving talks on a variety of subjects within the fields of biology and marine biology.

These seminars are open to all.

The first talk in this semester is 'Modelling the response of plant gene expression to multiple abiotic fluctuations in nature' and the speaker is Anne Plessis.

Contact Dr Antony Knights for more details.

Members of MBERC address a broad range of research questions, from the effects of environmental stress on microbes and developing embryos to the management of large scale impacts, such as global climate change. Our research has a marine biological focus but also draws on ideas and theories from other realms.

We have excellent links with external organisations, both regionally, and via numerous international collaborations. We encourage the active participation of our students in our research.
