You are invited to the Wembury Marine Centre for the annual University of Plymouth Marine Institute student talks hosted by the Wembury MCA Advisory Group.

Graduands from the University will give a short talk each evening based upon their final degree projects, giving them an opportunity to present their research to the public.

The first group of five will be on 6 June followed by the second group on 7 June. On both evenings the talks will start at 19:00, giving time for a quick bite on the way.

For many of the students, this will be their first chance to present complex science to non-specialists. So it is really important that we get real people to listen to them. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, and to talk to the students during the refreshment break - you can see what good value you get for your taxes! It is also a good chance for any larval marine biologists in your family to see what students actually do.

To make the most of the opportunity there will be a prize for the best talk each evening determined by the feedback of those attending. This feedback will be very simple and anonymous.

Tickets are free, but you will have a chance to contribute to the Wembury MCA Advisory Group which helps fund the educational resources of the Wembury Marine Centre. A £2 donation is suggested.
