This lecture by Professor Liz Wells is part of the 'Remember This?' public lecture series from The Arts Institute with Plymouth University. The series from the Arts and Humanities Professoriate focuses on the theme of Histories, Memory and Memorialisations.

The relationship between photography and history is unsettled. Pictures commemorate what once was, but what can we make of what we see?

Liz will reflect on images and on photography as a means of investigating histories of place. Focusing on rural areas, this talk includes reference to recent photographic projects in the South West.

The lecture starts at 6pm and all are welcome.

Please book your place via the link above.

The Arts Institute

The Arts Institute was founded in January 2016 to enrich art and culture in Plymouth and beyond through critical thinking, writing and making. It is where world-leading arts and humanities research meets cultural ecologies and economies in south-west England.
