The Plymouth Respect Festival is designed to promote respect and celebrate diversity across all areas of the community.

The festival is organised by the Plymouth and Devon Racial Equality Council (PDREC) and hosted by Plymouth University.

This year's festival runs alongside the University's Big Festival Weekend, so expect lots of other activities to complement and enhance Respect.

Keep up to date with developments and the full programme via the festival website.

The festival will start with a procession lead by Fanfara, who will be playing music in the style of Eastern European brass bands from The Guildhall to the University from 10.30am on Saturday. The group will also be on stage on Saturday afternoon.

Confirmed performers so far (visit the festival website for full details):

  • Yaaba Funk
  • Haunt the Woods
  • The Turbans
  • RSVP Bhangra.

In addition to world music, there will be street food, information, workshops, cinema, dances, performances and much more over the two days.
