We welcome 2018 with a festival that will celebrate the outstanding research carried out by staff at the University of Plymouth in collaboration with colleagues locally, nationally, and internationally.
This week-long programme will showcase the work that is being carried out across the University and highlight how our research is making a difference in economic, environmental, social and cultural terms.
The festival invites an academic, business and public audience to sample a diverse programme with a breadth of research topics. From antibiotic resistance, currently making national headlines as a critical world-wide threat; to our interdisciplinary research into marine and terrestrial issues, advances and strategies including global warming and displacement. We test the very current temperature of politics through Big Data, whilst through our Cornerstone Heritage initiative we explore how we live with the past and learn from it.
Community engagement is the topic for our event at Devonport Guildhall whilst Professional Healthcare is discussed by participants from different disciplines in a brainstorming session at Derriford to formulate novel ideas for the next generation of University research projects.
Throughout the week festival goers can enjoy our Images of Research competition as postgraduate researchers vie for two coveted Audience Favourite prizes.
