The Rolex Fastnet Race is a famous biennial offshore yachting race organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club.

Generally considered one of the classic offshore races, the race tests both inshore and offshore skills, boat and crew preparation and speed potential. From its inception, the Fastnet Race has proven highly influential in the growth of offshore racing, and remains closely linked to advances in yacht design, sailing technique and safety equipment.

The 46th edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race starts on Sunday 16 August from the Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes. The boats head West out of the Solent, racing across the Irish Sea and around the infamous Fastnet Rock.

After 608 nautical miles of offshore racing, the first sight of Plymouth will be a cheering one for every competitor.

Come and join in the celebrations at the Rolex Fastnet Race Village. The race boats will be on public view on 20 and 21 August at Mount Batten.

Plymouth University is pleased to be providing facilities support to the Rolex Fastnet Race.
