Student Presentations Evening 2015
  • Plymouth Lecture Theatre, Portland Square Building, Plymouth University

Save event

The annual Student Presentations Evening is a fantastic opportunity for marine sector companies looking to recruit undergraduate and postgraduate students who are nearing the end of their studies to witness presentation skills, technical proficiency, confidence and professional capability.

The event showcases student projects and dissertation studies and provides an ideal forum for companies to offer advice or even practical assistance.

It is also open to anyone with an interest in hydrography and/or the topics of the presentations including students, academics, potential employers and members of the public.

Short presentations across a range of topics associated with the hydrographic, environmental and ocean science professions include the following provisional titles:

  • Is it beneficial to use backscatter and water column data when processing multi-beam bathymetry? (Ellis Hughes)
  • A survey to assess the viability of the current UK-Santander ferry route in respect to the new Brittany (LNG powered) ferry expected in 2017 (James Tindal)
  • An investigation of the acoustic characteristics of bubble clouds and their effect upon sound (Richard King)
  • The raspberry pie as a low cost hydrography platform (Paul Penalver)
