Christmas celebrations on Plymouth's Barbican kicks off this year following the annual Thanksgiving ceremony on 27 November.
A large Mayflower themed Christmas tree will provide the main focal point when people are invited to gather around for an evening of entertainment. The Barbican’s Christmas lights will be switched on just after 6pm followed by carol singing, readings, poems and a visit from Santa creating a warm, festive family atmosphere.
Adding to the festivities will be the Tectona, berthed nearby on the Barbican, suitably illuminated and open to visitors wishing to come aboard.
Opening times (this will be when she is easy to step on to) are as follows:
- Thursday 27 November: 6pm-8pm
- Friday 28 November: 7pm-8pm
- Saturday 29 November: 9.30am-12.30pm
- Sunday 30 November: 10.30am-1.30pm.
Please contact Roger Crabtree on 07740 406529 to ensure someone is there to greet you if you're planning to visit Tectona!
