The University's Multi-faith Chaplaincy are delighted to host Bruce Kuhn, the Broadway actor who will perform Luke’s Gospel as part of his South West tour.

Bruce performed on Broadway in Les Misérables, in the National Tours of Chess and Cotton Patch Gospel and in the resident company of the acclaimed Actor’s Theatre of Louisville in roles as diverse as D’Artagnan in The Three Musketeers and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as The Gospel of Luke

Bruce has memorised the gospel word for word from the Bible and in a compelling 90 minute show the words of the story come alive as if he were giving his own eyewitness account and reliving his own experiences. The show premiered at the acclaimed Actor’s Theatre of Louisville (one of America’s largest professional theatres) to rave reviews and an extended run. The text is from the Authorized Version which takes to the stage like Shakespeare.

He now tours his one-man shows to universities and churches throughout North America and Europe. His conference appearances include Urbana (’93, ’96 and ’00), Vision New England Congresses, Keswick Conventions in England, as well as outreaches with Michael Green and Franklin Graham.

Bruce has taught storytelling at Regent College in Canada, Oxford University in England, and for the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) in nine countries. He received his classical training and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Washington in Seattle, and later trained with Uta Hagen in New York City. He is husband to Hetty, a landscape artist, and father to Frits (8) and Juliette (6).

“[Bruce Kuhn] brings St Luke’s Gospel to life with contagious enthusiasm…and makes of it a riveting dramatic experience.” William Mootz, Louisville Courier Journal
