"Bob White, a leading geophysicist, tackles one of the biggest conundrums in Christian thinking. He combines a profound knowledge of the science behind dramatic natural events with thorough research into their impact, and underpins it with a carefully reasoned theological responseā€ (from the description of his book of the same title).

Robert (Bob) White is Professor of Geophysics in the Department of Earth Sciences at Cambridge University, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1994. He is also a Fellow of the Geological Society, and a member of the American Geophysical Union. He is Director of the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion, and his scientific work is published in over 350 papers and articles.

This free lecture starts at 7.30pm - all welcome.

This lecture will be the inaugural Dallinger lecture, an annual lecture series sponsored by Plymouth University Chaplaincy and Christians in Science South West which will look at issues of faith and science. William Dallinger (1839-1909) was an eminent scientist and Methodist minister who came from Devonport, Plymouth.
