The Plymouth Woodland Project is a Citizen Science project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and run by the School of Biological Sciences at Plymouth University.
The project aims to inspire people about the natural world, whilst also using community participation to collect useful data on the state of our woodlands and how they are changing. There is a year-round programme of outreach activities to help people learn to identify woodland plants and animals and take part in citizen science studies to help conserve woodlands.
The Woodland Explorers Club
The Woodland Explorers Club is a fun club that meets once a month on Saturdays.
The club is run by the Plymouth Woodland Project and National Trust at Plym Valley.
Woodland Explorers combines science, wildlife ID, bushcraft, art and outdoor skills to deliver a year-round programme of fun and educational activities for children and young people.
These free events are open to all ages but booking is essential. Children must be accompanied by an adult - meet at 09:50 in the National Trust Car Park, Plymbridge Woods.
Go Wild!
Join us for our last Woodland Explorers before the end of our funding period. We will be 'going wild', with a whole host of hands-on activities including bug hunting, pond dipping and plant spotting. Each family will also get to take home a pack of goodies to help you to continue exploring nature!
