Save event

Calling all students! This creative writing event at the Writing Café is a chance for you to have fun, be creative and help other students as well.

Have mental health issues impacted on your life?

We are looking for inspirational and uplifting stories to support other students going through similar experiences. 1000 -1600 words presented in text, or under five minutes in audio or film, your story may then be used to create an e-resource for the SHINE Project.

Do you have an inspiring and transformative story that is about:

  • Life and wellbeing as a mature student
  • Battling your inner critic and overcoming perfectionism
  • Coping with loss and bereavement
  • Anxiety and stress in the academic environment.

Routes of submission

You can come along to our one-off Writers Workshop, a fun and creative event with refreshments, on 30 January. There is no need to book - just turn up!

We will support you to write. This can be a personal, therapeutic journey that is just for you or you can share your experiences to benefit others.  If you want to submit your writing to the project we will be creating some inspiring short films with PUMA as a resource for other students.

Alternatively you can write your story in your own time and submit by email to david.sibley@plymouth.ac.uk.

The deadline for submissions is 27 February 2015.

Whichever you choose, we would love to hear from you.  We will help you present your work in text, audio or film at a WRITE FROM THE HEART Showcase Event (dates TBA).

For any enquirIes please email david.sibley@plymouth.ac.uk.

WRITE FROM THE HEART is in partnership with:
