"The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is home to more than 220 postgraduate research (PGR) students working across a variety of base disciplines within departments recognised as world-leading for their research, impact, and environment, as evidenced in our various centres of PGR excellence: iDat, ICCMR, TransTech, 3D3. In addition to the critical humanities, Plymouth has long been a national leader in the fostering of creative arts practice and the study of creativity, with PGR students in these areas benefiting from our building of collegiate cohorts, interdisciplinary study, and ever-increasing international partnerships (in USA, China, Greece, Italy, Nepal, Jordan, and Ethiopia).
The UK Government will introduce new doctoral loans of up to £25,000 for PhDs and equivalent postgraduate research programmes for English-resident students from 2018. Further information can be found on prospects.ac.uk .
The University of Plymouth’s Faculty of Arts regularly administers competitive studentships via, for example, the Doctoral Teaching Assistantship scheme, and the 3D3 consortium scheme "
