About building and engineering
The University’s estate comprises ten sites located throughout Devon and Cornwall, including the two main centres in the city of Plymouth and at Derriford, and other key locations in Truro and Exeter. It has more than 100 buildings of varying age and type dating between 1844 and 2017.
The building and engineering division provides services that maintain and enhance the University’s buildings, grounds and infrastructure.
This is achieved by:
- Undertaking repair and maintenance of the University's estate
- Providing project management for building and engineering projects that enhance and upgrade the existing buildings and infrastructure
- Ensuring compliance with all matters relating to health and safety legislation
- Responding to guidance or constraints imposed by external agencies
