What do we do?
We manage capital projects with a value below £1 million from the inception and feasibility stages through to agreement of the final account. Our team also provide the University with professional advice on all property matters whether project related, or more broadly, on building and compliance issues.
A comprehensive database of all University buildings is maintained electronically and is made available to faculties and directorates on request, together with advice on the implications for any proposed developments or changes.
The technical and statutory compliance aspects of internal orders are managed through our service and are delivered through a combination of in-house trade staff and external contractors operating under framework agreements.
We also play a core role in capital projects with a value above £1 million. Acting as client co-ordinators, the direct liaison between the client and the project team, we develop and maintain the core project design brief which all external designers are required to adhere to.
Further support is provided by in house clerks of works who ensure that projects are completed to the quality and safety demanded by the client.
