ASTI Special Interest Groups

ASTI coordinate three special interest groups, the three special interest groups focus on:

  • Blended and Distance Learning
  • eAssessment
  • ePortfolios with PebblePad

These groups share current practice across the university and the art of the possible; discuss current issues and possible solutions; and look at future requirements. Specific information about each group can be found below.

If you are interested in participating in one or more of our special interest groups, please email us at asti@plymouth.ac.uk and we will be happy to add you to the meetings and online discussion group(s).

Blended and Distance Learning

Group Aims:

  • Share practice, experience and ideas
  • Facilitate a supportive community of users and interested parties across the institution
  • Discuss current issues and concerns with technology, process and practice and feedback to relevant departments where necessary
  • Identify future needs, gaps in support or technology provision and highlight opportunities
  • Search for good practice outside of our institution and horizon scan

eAssessment

Group Aims:

  • Learn from each other by sharing practice from across our institution
  • Discuss what eAssessment looks like in a range of contexts
  • Offer help and advice in the use of eAssessment tools to ensure we can align technology, practice and policy
  • Discuss current issues, possible solutions and work arounds
  • ‘Where next?’ - consider future needs and requirements in order to shape our strategic direction for eAssessment

ePortfolios with PebblePad

Group Aims:

  • Share current practice, experience and ideas from across faculties, schools and professions
  • Facilitate a supportive community of users willing to share tips, advice and best practice
  • Discuss current issues and concerns with PebblePad and identify possible solutions
  • Look at future needs to help shape development of the product
  • Identify additional support resources and refine current materials
