A world of opportunity awaits

A nursing degree provides you with a number of career pathways. Catherine found herself within a surgical ward area in a specialty she never experienced as a student – gynaecology and women’s services – and is looking forward to a varied exciting career.
"Going forward, I would like to gain more experience in a range of locations across medicine and surgery, as well as critical care, with the aim to return to the University as a lecturer."
Catherine Jones, Adult nursing graduate

When you realise you’ve made a difference to someone’s day, even with a small conversation or just a smile, it makes all the hard work worth it.

The BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) programme at Plymouth really prepares you for life as a qualified nurse. The curriculum was interesting and varied and applied the theoretical components to practice.

Tim, Senior Charge Nurse

The staff at Plymouth were fantastic and really encouraged us to always give our very best and hold very high standards. I felt totally supported all the way throughout my degree.

Nursing is my second degree as my first was in History and Education. I’d hope in a few years time I can combine the two areas and develop towards working in Nursing Education.
