Jill Craigie Cinema
The Jill Craigie cinema is an innovative space, providing an opportunity to showcase moving image pieces and film work in an authentic, high-spec cinema environment.
The mutli-functional suite, located on the ground floor of the Roland Levinsky Building, can be booked by members of staff for lectures, talks or to exhibit student work.
Our facilities are also open to the public through The Arts Institute who showcase a diverse programme made up of contemporary independent films, hidden gems of past cinema and critical documentaries.
The auditorium holds 127 seats, and is designed to a high specification with two film projectors, 35mm and 16mm, allowing us to show not just the most contemporary films but also old archive film footage. Additionally, DVD and Blu-ray can be projected onto the screen.
The cinema is also equipped with Dolby Atmos 5.1 Surround Sound to accommodate all sound tracks, and is fitted with hearing assistance technology.
