Biography

Biography

Interested in the aquatic ecology and conservation, especially freshwater. Researches trophic and spawning dynamics of native and non native fishes. Understanding how barriers affect the timing and success of movements, especially those related to spawning migrations. Interested in early life stages, especially the egg and larval stage of fish that bury eggs within sediment and therefore cannot move to seek better environmental conditions. Interested in public engagement and using evidence based conservation methods to manage the environment. Advocate of citizen and community science as an inclusive method for data collection and as an engagement tool.  

Qualifications

PhD in Population ecology of European barbel (Bournemouth University) http://eprints.bournemouth.ac.uk/30876/ Match funded by the Severn Rivers Trust.

MRes in Aquatic Ecology and Conservation (Swansea University) - Maternal effects of domestication on Atlantic Salmon. Funded by the Knowledge Exchange Scholorship.

Zoology BSc First Class Honours (University of Liverpool). Awarded attainment scholarship.

Research interests
