Research interests
I am broadly interested in the function and maintenance of groups of animals, using shoaling fishes as model species. These interests include how shoaling fish use visual signals (such as colour) to communicate with each other, how differences in behaviour and state between individuals might affect group-level behaviour, and how the maintenance of fish shoals might be affected by rapid environmental changes.
