Biography

Biography

Robert is a professional engineer with 30+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector. Throughout his career he balanced his involvement in commercial work with significant involvement in collaborative European and UK funded R&D activities. In 2005, he took the lead in extending Garrad Hassan's services and products to meet the needs of the emerging wave and tidal sectors. From 2008-2013 he led the development and delivery of the Energy Technologies Institute funded PerAWaT (Performance Assessment of Wave and Tidal Array Systems) project (https://www.eti.co.uk/programmes/marine/perawat) which had a value in excess of £8m. 

In 2014 Robert was Director of Technology Programmes, reporting to DNV GL Group's CTO, and from 2015 to 2018, he reported to DNV GL Energy's Director of Technology and Innovation as Service Area Leader for Renewables Advisory where he took the lead in driving global innovation activities.
