Other academic activities

I am a Medical / Public Health (PH) doctor with a multidisciplinary background in the Human Sciences and eleven years postgraduate experience across clinical Medicine and PH. I have worked on projects within the NHS, for private organisations and social enterprises within the UK, and for health services and academic institutions widely across Africa, Cambodia, Peru and Canada. I am part of a team who, in 2016, set up the GH collaborative (with Plymouth University). I am currently on the GP training scheme in the South West.

I have worked with two Tropical Health Education Trust supported international health partnerships. I helped set up the Wollega Exeter Medical School link to Ethiopia, and have worked to increase public health and primary care input into the Nanyuki Torbay link to Kenya. 

Since September 2014, I have been medical editor for the Office of International Surgery (University of Toronto) online learning/e-journal club 'Surgery In Africa'. This is an online resource for postgraduate surgical trainees who are part of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa.
