Visit us at one of our exclusive offer holder only events, a chance to get a more in-depth understanding of your course.
Attending an offer holder day gives you the chance to take the next step towards starting your course in September by connecting you with passionate staff and current students. It will also provide you with an opportunity to explore the campus and city, get any questions answered and really find out about what it is like to be a student at the University of Plymouth.

Once you've submitted your application
UCAS will send us a copy of your application for us to consider whether to offer you a place to study. We will send you an email to let you know that we have received, and are processing, your application.
Please check your emails regularly for important updates.

What happens next?

Once you have received your confirmation email from us, we will then consider your application to help us reach a decision.

  • We check whether you are studying towards (or have studied) the correct qualifications for entry on your desired course.
  • We see whether any predicted grades meet our requirements for the course.
  • We read your personal statement.
  • If necessary, we will invite you to an interview (for certain courses only).
  • For details on additional costs relating to your degree such as required equipment and field trips please check your programme page.

Our decision
For our standard courses (excluding health courses and some arts courses that require a portfolio or audition), you will receive a decision about your application within 14 days of application submission.
You'll also be notified by the UCAS Hub system if you have been unsuccessful in your application.

Next steps if you applied through UCAS
Congratulations on receiving your offer! Once you have received decisions from all the institutions you applied to, and you feel ready to make your decision, you will need to choose your firm and insurance choices in the UCAS Hub.
Firm choice: this is your first choice – the place you most want to go to. If you accept our conditional offer and meet the conditions, you’ll have a confirmed place here.
Insurance choice: this is the choice you’d want if you didn't meet the conditions of your firm choice. If you receive a conditional offer to study with us, you still need to meet the conditions for your insurance place to be confirmed.
It’s important that you’re happy with both your firm and insurance choices and that they are in the right order as you cannot choose between the two when you get your results. Make sure you choose an offer from a university which is achievable and that your insurance choice has different conditions.

Guardianship
If you will be under the age of 18 when you start your studies, you are required to provide us with details of a guardian in line with our safeguarding policy.
