Do you want to connect autonomous vehicles or structure databases for online retailers? Or are you determined to work as a web developer? Whatever your career goals, we’ll work with you throughout your degree to give you the support you need, preparing you to make a real impact in the computing and IT industry.

Our graduates are high achievers. With the demand for highly skilled professionals in the IT sector through to 2020 rising at almost twice the rate of the UK average, the career you want is out there. And we’ll help you get it.

We’re proud of our employability record. After six months 77 per cent of our computer science graduates are employed in professional or managerial roles. It’s testament to the quality of our teaching, the breadth of our facilities and the strength of our industry connections.

The numbers speak for themselves. But most importantly, they show the value of a hands-on course. A course that gives you vital real-world experience. A course that engages you in workshops and live collaborative projects. And a course that’s specially designed to ensure you graduate with the skills and experience employers want.

Primed and ready
Our focus is preparing you for the career of your choosing. So we’ll introduce you to a wide range of subjects and disciplines, as well as making sure you develop the essential personal and communication skills you’ll need to succeed in the computing industry.

You’ll also have the chance to do a significant work placement. Spending a year working on the ground in the industry, you’ll apply the skills you’ve learnt in real-life situations. This invaluable experience will not only help your CV stand out; you could even be offered a graduate position by your placement employer – like Jake Evans, who joined Pythagoras Communications Ltd after completing a placement with the specialist development company.

"My placement was an opportunity for me to hone my professional and technical skills in the industry,” he says. “My main responsibilities included developing systems for clients; the wholesale design, development and testing of new products for the company; travelling to client sites and meeting with company leaders; problem solving on the company help desk, and more!”

“I gained invaluable industry experience and developed programming, interpersonal and life skills, which I’d never have got through education alone. I also gained contacts in the computing industry and was offered a job by the company at the end of my degree."
