Tell us about your career path since graduation.

I haven’t graduated from my master’s degree at the University of Plymouth yet; I am working on my dissertation at the moment, although time to work on it has been rather limited over the last couple months due to rugby commitments. I currently play for the Cornish Pirates and am part of the Canadian rugby team setup.

Has your career path changed since graduation?

The big change that occurred is that I have moved clubs. I have been with Plymouth Albion since the 2012/2013 season; however, due to relegation and other reasons, I have joined the Cornish Pirates on a two-year deal.

What is the most difficult thing which you have faced in your career?

The most difficult thing for me would have to be overcoming injuries. I have been very lucky regarding injuries, but I have had a few and it is excruciatingly hard to watch from the stands.

What is the best, most exciting or fun thing that you have done in your career?

The most exciting thing so far in my career would be being named as part of the Canadian Rugby World Cup team. The World Cup takes place from September and October in England and preparations for our team started in June, so it is an extremely long process.

How did studying at Plymouth help you?

Studying at the University of Plymouth furthered my academic knowledge in the business and management field. Also, it helped me work on my time management skills as well, since I studied with a full-time job. Furthermore, this programme involved a lot of group exercises which will be extremely beneficial within my sport and as part of my career post rugby.

Would you recommend undertaking a course with the University of Plymouth, and why?

I would definitely recommend undertaking a course at the University of Plymouth: the lecturers are very helpful in helping to achieve your academic goals. Also, Plymouth is a unique city with a lot of history, so the city offers a lot to students.
